About LoveSexy
LoveSexy
Marketing & Promotions started out as a weekly event based in Hoboken at signore's Lounge. The weekly event became
very successful and grew by leaps and bounds. Due to this success the
owner of Signore's Lounge, Joe Signore offered John Vargas the founder of
LoveSexy Marketing & Promotions, the opportunity to take over and serve as the GM of promotions,
marketing, music programming, artistic direction, talent buying, events.. Signore's Lounge became nationally known as LoveSexy@Signore's.
LoveSexy had a near 10 year successful run @ 104 Hudson Street. Joe
Signore wanted to retire and offered Vargas the option to buy the business
Vargas built. Vargas had to decline the offer due to the fact that he wanted
to use his savings to finance a film he wrote/directed/produced. (that is a
complete other chapter) Vargas
states "Basically what we do is promote events or book talent in
different lounges, restaurants, clubs in NYC and NJ. However, 2006
marked our national launch and we are now in several territories nation
wide. Via friends in various industries we receive offers to take over
the promotional direction or General Management of
Lounges/Restaurants/Bars/Nightclubs. If the situation is right we
accept whether it is a lounge, club or restaurant/bar and we take over
the music programming, promotional direction, booking of musical talent
and General Management. In other words we bring the vibe and the crowd
follows." Today
LoveSexy has morphed into a multi faceted firm with interest
in the worlds of Film, Music, Nightlife and Fashion. Our mainstay was usually nightlife, providing
services of nightclub General Management & Promotions. In addition LoveSexy Promotions
has spearheaded, assisted and provided consulting services for well known spirit brands. (Past
clients: Sky Vodka, Captain Morgan, Grey Goose, Licor 43, Malibu rum,
Extreme Vodka, etc..)
"In
the early stages of our growth we were lucky and happy to have provided
grass roots marketing and promotions for a little film being
distributed by Lions Gate films. Said film was titled "Amores Perros"
which went on to win at Cannes, British Academy Awards and nominated
for the The American Academy. The director Alejandro Gonzales Innaritu
went on to become one of Hollywoods most sought after directors." Said
Vargas the founder of LoveSexy Marketing and Promotions. We provide Marketing & Promotions, PR, event planning, original band bookings, talent buying +.

LoveSexy's additional history Back
in 1991 LoveSexy was one of the first underground dance
parties, featuring the best in underground Soulful House
and Disco Classics to be held in Hoboken. At the time,
LoveSexy was not only featuring dance music but was also
a place you could go and hear cutting edge live indie
music on the weekends.
In 1994 LoveSexy decided to move its weekly Wednesday night
party to Signore's Lounge and has had world renown artist such as Mix
Master Mike of the Beastie Boys, ILL Nino, DJ Disciple, Erick Morrillo, Moldy Peaches
hit the stage and decks.
Founders Background: "I
booked my very first live music show at @ Studio 54 while working there
in a management position in order to pay for my
college books. The group was a little group known as "Raze" who went on
to have the hit Summer Anthem "Break For Love" I had recently met
a DJ by the name of Vinnie Fraginals who along with his wife Jeanette
and vocalist Keith Thompson had worked on this little record titled "Break For Love" under Van Mason's Groove Street Records. The song was
mostly ignored by DJ's and radio. In the beginning the only DJ's
playing it were Tony Humphries & Vinnie, when Vinnie Fraginals
first let me hear the song I got goose bumps and he gave me a few
copies and since i had access to legendary DJ Larry Levan who was the
Thursday night resident at Studio 54 I gave Larry a copy and asked if
he could play it, he played it and loved it and soon his Thursday night
crowd followed suit and the dance floor was on fire whenever Larry
played it from then on.
Shortly there after, I asked Larry
Levan's manager, the legendary Bob Caviano if I can book my friends act
on a Thursday night. Bob was the talent booker and he laughed
when i asked if I can book my friends act, once I told Bob that
Larry was playing their song on a regular basis and that it was
starting to burn up the streets, Bob agreed to give me a shot at
booking my very first show. Shortly after the show, within a few weeks
the musical act known as "Raze" blew up and "Break for Love" became the
hottest summer song being played on every boom box, car stereo, club
and party in NYC/NJ/PA neighborhoods-with the rest of America & the world-soon to
follow. Studio 54 was my training ground in the nightlife and music
industry and it introduced me to great pioneers such as Larry Levan,
Bob Caviano, Little Louie Vega, La India, Red Alert, Keith Harring and
many more."
