All bands, all styles are invited to participate and to be eligible for major

10 finalist will be chosen for the Originalsessions Volume 4 cd compilation and one main band will be chosen for full sponsorship. NYC is the "Headquarters" of the National Band Search and all other cities are
satellite territories.

Clubs participating in National Band Search vary according to city in NYC they have included, Avalon, Rothko, Pianos, Scenic, Webster Hall, LoveSexyNYC, Lick, Shanghai RockHotel, OSArtHouse + more. Be eligible to receive thousands of dollars in prizes and help catapult your band to a higher level.

The Buzz Band Search will be held year-round in participating cities and clubs. OriginalSessions National Band Search will be a conduit and a prelude to the FMFB Festival in NYC every year.

The search itself is very simple and there are no bells and whistles on the show nights. Unlike other festivals and Band competitions, we pay our bands properly based on their draw. we also ask bands to follow simple rules of etiquite and do not bring negative attitudes if participating. Remember good communication is always key.

This is how it works:

On a given night selected bands will play a show at a participating club. There will be one to three reps on hand hanging out very low key checking out the bands. It is all about good music. Good, tight and well polished musicianship speaks for itself. The most polished Bands will be invited back to play a second, third and final show. Our “weeding out” process is a multi step progression and we are very careful to make sure bands that are chosen are in this business for the long term.

Out of all bands that make it past the progression process a total of 10 bands will be chosen to be part of the OriginalSessions compilation CD which will receive national promotion. Out of the 10 bands on compilation CD one band will be chosen to receive full sponsorship. Bands will be paid for all shows based on their draw. There is usually a $7- $10 dollar cover. All patrons entering club will be asked at door which band they are there in support of. Criteria for how bands are chosen is based on artistic merit, how tight the bands sound, originality, positive attitude and draw. Draw is not the key factor but it is in a band's favor if they sound great and have a decent following. There will be a head count to make sure how many patrons each band draws. The first ten people that pay cover in support of said band goes to the house. The second ten people that pay cover in support of said band goes to that band. Any number of people that pay cover in support of said band thereafter gets 60/40 split in the band's favor. Bands must be based within 50 miles of city where their show will take place unless there are special circumstance and arrangements are made.

"New Radio" (Now known as Atarah Valentine) played The Reykjavik music festival in Iceland and got signed to Atlantic records after an A&R Rep saw their OriginalSessions show @ The Knitting Factory.

"Unisex Salon" which was the main band on the OriginalSessions Volume 1 CD compilation signed production deal with pop hitmaker Billy Mann (Pink, Jessica Simpson, Celine Dion, IMA Robot),

"Fast Eddy" played Irving Plaza in NYC opening for "The Blood Hound Gang" Jagermeister music tour as a result of being part of OriginalSessionsVolume 2 CD Compilat

"Soul Made Visible" opened for "Disturbed" on the Jager Music Tour as a result of being part OriginalSessions Volume 2. Plus there is much more brewing

In the past when OriginalSessions was a film & music series we were fortunate enough to screen films such as Amores Perros & Y Tu Mama Tambien. If you are not familiar with either of the films mentioned, both films have received prestigious awards & nominations ( British Academy Film Award, Best Foreign Language Film, 73rd Annual Academy Awards). The OriginalSessions Film&Music Series and The OriginalSessions National Band Search are conduits and prelude to The FMFB Festival in NYC.
